Language Around Disability: Identity-First and Person-First

Most autistic adults prefer identity-first language ('autistic person'). Many disability advocates prefer person-first ('person with a disability'). Both are correct in context and the right move is to mirror the language the individual or community uses.
In job descriptions, identity-first tends to read as more confident and less clinical. When in doubt, ask the people you are writing for.
